About the Raymond Abellio Rencontres
Brief presentation
The Raymond Abellio Rencontres bring together, in a spirit of research, people inspired by the thought and work of Raymond Abellio, French philosopher and writer (1907-1986).
Topics include:
- philosophy in general
- applications of the approach developed by Raymond Abellio under the name of absolute structure,
- the traditions of humanity, especially spiritual and esoteric ones,
- epistemology,
- creative processes,
- encounters with innovative sciences and technologies
- ...
These Rencontres were inaugurated in 2004 as the "Rencontres de Seix", in this Pyrenean village where Abellio's family has its roots. They have most often taken place in Seix, but also in places as diverse as Porto (Portugal, 2010), Montreal (Quebec, 2012) and Toulouse (2018, 2019, 2020).
They span two days and include talks on philosophical reflection and scientific, literary and artistic research, as well as lively exchanges.
These Rencontres are organized by the Association Raymond Abellio de Recherches et Études (ARARE), a non-profit cultural and scientific association.
